IT WORKS

LAME

That's me. Lame. I get the award for worst blogger ever. I don't think Diplodocus will recover. But, does anyone really read this? Not really.

LONG OVERDUE

Egon Schiele paintings - He is my favorite artist, and I've been really inspired by his work in my own drawings lately. I've been trying to improve my contour and figure drawing skills, and I love how distorted and angular his work is, and yet the proportions and detail are absolutely brilliant. I think he paints people the way they really are. I can't think of many other artists that have such a profound perspective of humanity. But then again, I'm a writer first, and an artist second. But they're really the same.

Alexander Wang Boatneck Dress, and Atlantis Vintage necklace.

Again...

And again...

And agaaaaaaain...

Silly self portrait

Gap thermal, Atlantis Vintage necklace, assorted random bracelets, Levi's bleached skinny jeans

Bet you didn't really need to see my face this close up :)

The Alexander Wang dress is probably one of my favorite things in my closet right now. I'm going to invest in a pair of American Apparel short shorts to wear underneath, though, because it is juuuust too sheer to wear without. I'm also obsessed with the two racerback tanks I got, black and grey - urgh. I'm going to own everything in every color. Broke? Yes.

Lizzie Fortunato is coming, I promise.

But in the meantime - some of the people in my limited social circle:

My friends are such hipsters.

ALEXANDER WANG, HERMES, AND LIZZIE FORTUNATO

There are so many things happening right now! I finally had the good luck to go shopping when my parents came to visit, and so I ended up scoring a few things on my wish list, and thanks to my good friend Lauren, I made some incredible discoveries on the jewelry scene. So, here is my version of a photo-montage of the that has become my new wish list!

(T by Alexander Wang Boat Neck Dress -Charcoal)

This has been on my list of things to get for SO long. I hate feeling like I'm wearing clothes, I prefer to feel like a skeleton draped in fabric...hence the attraction to these airy, simple, chic dresses. The outfit in the pictures above is pretty close to perfect, in my book. I actually have on the exact outfit right now. I love the way the Ann Demeulemeester's go so perfectly with everything Alexander Wang makes.
I also got 2 of his racerback tank tops. One in black, and one in the same charcoal grey as the dress. I am absolutely in love with the way the fabric hangs and the deep racerback just thrills me to death the way it just hangs from my shoulders - you can even see the tattoos on my back, which is surprising and wonderful, because I have met very few pieces of clothing that are low enough to show it...SO HOORAY! Enough about Alexander Wang - we all know his slouchy slept in skeletal draping clothes are divine.

Now...

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET MY HANDS ON THIS! :)
The mesh american apparel bras just aren't doing it for me anymore, I need Alexander Wang to be on display underneath those tanks, it's more substantial while still being racerback and mesh. Plus, it's encouraged to put it on display. Of course.
Hm. The VPL bra is also a little bit of a unicorn - I should have gotten it while I had the chance :(

AND FINALLY: this is what I'm saving all my $$ for right now: the holy grail. the one and only.HERMES KELLY DOUBLE TOUR BRACELET WITH ORANGE LEATHER AND GOLD HARDWARE.
I. Can't. Wait.

...I'm going to do a separate post about Lizzie Fortunato, she's an incredible jewelry designer and I've fallen madly in love with her substantial, statement making pieces. They are all original and unique, and each of her design collections are inspired by a different era, element, object, or emotion - and each piece is hand made. What a powerhouse, right?

Firestone Vagabond Cruiser

I AM IN LOVE. Can't wait to get it tuned up and maaaaybe put whitewall tires on it...maybe. I can't believe what a freakish lucky find this was. It's in really good condition, too. I'm barely going to need to fix anything. It needs new brake pads and maybe a new chain but thats it. Pretty thrilled about finding a 3 speed cruiser like this, my favorite color too! Extra bonus: nobody will want to steal it.

GET READY

Tons of pictures coming up. I went out on Newbury Street with a friend today, who was lovely enough to then take photos of my two vintage finds - a vintage firestone cruiser bike, a really cool blue dress, and a March 1973 Vogue in AMAZING condition that I will probably end up scanning and posting every single photo. There's an article in it about Henry Kissinger, along with the first American production of E.M Forster's story "The Obelisk" - and since he's one of my favorite authors I had to jump on it. And also, Lauren Hutton is on the cover. I don't think it could get better. What a DAY! I am pretty tired. The bike is not really that light. It also needs to be played with a little bit before it's in good enough condition to really ride...the brakes aren't that great right now.

Ah, well, I'll be putting up photos later.

check check check it out

SO I went shopping. Here's what happened.

I never would have considered this dress had there not been a photo of the model wearing it. this could become my favorite summer dress if the photo lives up to the part.

Forever21 Ikat Print Pareo

Forever21 geometric print tank dress. its also racerback, and has a little drawstring at the waist.

Sweet checkered scarf from Forever21. I loved the color pairing. It's a little strange.

i bought two pairs of these i loved them so much. i have this blue color, and i also got them in peacock, but there wasn't a photo and i haven't taken any yet. theyre so amazing, i'm motivated to work out so i can actually wear them. however, still the coolest shorts.

I swear this is the coolest thing ever. I can't wait to wear my new collection of innapropriately short shorts out in public. right after i start using my gym membership like...now.

BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS

I've decided that since I'm in a furniture- shopping kind of mood (well, I'm forcing myself to be in one, so I don't spend my money on things I don't need before I fill my apartment)

So, here's what I've got so far. Nothing. Except a wish list consisting of this:

I started a savings fund just for this. I'm determined to save the necessary dollhairz to buy it. It reminds me of the bed that Allison Portchnik has in Annie Hall.

"Allison: I'm in the midst of doing my thesis.
Alvy Singer: On what?
Allison: Political commitment in twentieth century literature.
Alvy Singer: You, you, you're like New York, Jewish, left-wing, liberal, intellectual, Central Park West, Brandeis University, the socialist summer camps and the, the father with the Ben Shahn drawings, right, and the really, y'know, strike-oriented kind of, red diaper, stop me before I make a complete imbecile of myself.
Allison: No, that was wonderful. I love being reduced to a cultural stereotype.
Alvy Singer: Right, I'm a bigot, I know, but for the left."

MIA

I've totally and completely dropped off the face of the earth. Expect little to no posting in the next few weeks as I move into my new apartment and assemble furniture. I will, however, show you the generic website photo of the desk I got. It's pretty cool. I've always wanted one of those crazy roll top secretary desks.

Anyways, the picture here is terrible but I'll be taking photos of it when it gets here. I think it's got potential to be cooler in real life. We'll see.
