KUBRICK, ATLANTIS VINTAGE, AND BOXES

So, today is a rather lazy day, and I realize I haven't updated in awhile so I thought I would share with you some of my recent purchases and inspirations. I have always loooooved Jane's Mother's store - Atlantis Vintage. I've never had the chance to grab one of those great gold vintage necklaces that seem to always fly off the shelves, so to speak, but I got lucky and finally got my hands on a good one! I love chains, and big gold jewelry, so this necklace happens to be perfectly perfect for layering and generally rockin' the bling. It's a long, heavy gold chain with a waterfall 'pendant' that is made of cascading fine gold chains. In a word, it's heavy. I can't wait to see if it's as heavy in real life as it looks on the mannequin...

I also caved and got myself a pair of the legendary Bensimon sneakers, apparently they're 'all the rage' en Paris...and since I'm not shy about being a Francophile - I got em. They're purple canvas, alot like keds, but the toe cap, heel, and sole are a lot more industrial looking rubber than keds- definitely built for walking around the city.

I'm moving to my new apartment on wednesday, and I could not be more excited. I can finally have enough space to decorate the way I want, and I can bring all the furniture from my house that I've been waiting patiently to steal - I've finally got the space for the couches that have been in storage, waiting for me.

I'm sitting here, within a sea of cardboard boxes, watching 2001: A Space Odyssey - It's one of my favorite movies, and since it happened to be on TV, it reminds me that I've got to have one really intense movie night and re-watch all my favorite dvds. I've made a list: Fantastic Planet, Breathless, Pulp Fiction, Neon Genesis: Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop- The Movie, Annie Hall, Sleeper, Empire Records, Labyrinth, The Man Who Fell to Earth, Jules et Jim, and I'll probably throw in Planet of The Apes - I need a little does of Charlton Heston.

I am so into space and anime recently (well, not recently, but I'm reverting back to my old habits) and I'm glad I rediscovered it! I forget how inspirational even cartoons can be for fashion. I'm experimenting with elements now instead of trends, and all my attention has been focused on interior designing lately and not wardrobe designing, so my apparel has suffered lately, I've been wearing my 'uniform' of the same black BDG jeans, J.Crew Boyfriend Tissue V-neck T, (These are the best t-shirts ever, I have probably 8 different colors and they are ABSOLUTELY fabulous - seriously- get some) Cranberry American Apparel Sweatshirt, and Adidas Samba sneakers - along with my Ray-Ban glasses, and a silver pendant from P-Nut Jewelry (which I will devote an entire entry to later, since I'm planning another purchase)

So here we go. Photos galore.
