AIR CONDITIONING PLZ

I just moved back into my apartment last night, after fighting with my landlord for weeks to get the exterminators in (which they finally did) I am able to sleep soundly and not worry TOO much about creepy crawlies lurking in corners.

However, now that I have nice new sheets, the apartment is cleaned up, and things are looking quite beautiful and Beacon Hill-esque, I feel like taking some photos of my little closet studio. I've never taken pictures of my antique chairs (they were my grandmother's, then my mom's, then my aunt's, and now they're on loan to me), and I've got this cool chandelier decal on the wall that was a gift from one of my best friends, and my uncle gave me one of his wooden macaw statues that he got in Ecuador about a zillion years ago...so, I'll try and get some photos up soon.

Hopefully the photos of the apartment come up around the same time the complexgeometries dress gets here - I got a shipping confirmation email yesterday :)

I bought another pair of Madewell jeans the other day in white, since I love the pair of 'skinny low' jeans I have from them so much, I decided my first foray into the land of white denim should be a pair of those wonderful jeans. I went in and got them in the same size as my other pair without trying them on, and the sales associate warned me that the denim was heavier in the white color and I should PROOOOBABLY go up a size...yeah, well, I don't like bigger numbers so I bought them in the same size anyways...

Can I just say that after wearing them for two days straight and doing all sorts of acrobatics - they are still almost suffocating. I'm determined to break them in. But I guess that's what I get for not listening. They're officially a project. The moral of the story is that I love them, and despite my hatred for white denim (and light colored pants in general), these are most definitely one freakin awesome pair of jeans. I highly recommend the Madewell jeans to anyone, if for nothing else but the price. At $88 a pair, they're already a good buy for quality denim, but if you're a college student, most stores have a 15% off discount if you show a school ID, making them about $75-$77 depending on where you are. There's a store on Newbury Street in Boston.

Sign up for their membership and you get invites to private sales, etc etc. Madewell is the same company as J.Crew, but with a better price point and is slightly more casual than it's larger counterpart company - definitely my new go-to place for basics.

Wow, enough of me talking. Here is a sketch by the fantastic Garance Doré
